First Sunday of Advent, Year A, Matthew 24:37-44

Advent is a season in preparation for Jesus’ Second Coming and also his birth. The Advent season reminds us to be awake, to stand ready in preparation for the coming of the Lord.

Men discerning a vocation also need to be open and ready and not half asleep and unprepared to make a well formed decision with prayer and discernment about their vocation.

The people in Noah’s day suspected nothing and were ‘all swept away.” Let all men discerning their vocation be alert, ready and awake to respond to the Lord’s invitation to serve him in a particular vocation.

Kind regards and God bless
