A pray for those who are discerning their vocations

Lord help me, to know what vocation you have planned for me. Enlighten my heart and speak to me, so I may know what your will is. Inspire me with the wisdom to respond to your invitation to serve you as a Priest, Religious, Married or Single Person. I ask this prayer through Christ Our Lord. Amen

Come Holy Spirit, enlighten my heart, and assist me to discover my vocation so I may clearly know what special plan God has set for me, and how He wants me to serve Him. Amen.

Enkindle in our communities a missionary zeal. Send, Lord, workers into Your fields and do not let mankind be lost because of a lack of pastors, missionaries, and people dedicated to the cause of the Gospel.

Gracious God, bless our seminarians, may the Holy Spirit inspire and give them the courage and enthusiasm for their vocation. Guide them to become prayerful and holy Priests, men with hearts like our Lord, prepared to serve the Church and give their lives for Christ. We ask this pray through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Vocations

Heavenly Father, bless your Church with an abundance of holy and zealous priests, deacons, brothers and sisters. Give those You have called to the married state and those You have chosen to live as single persons in the world, the special graces that their lives require. Form us all in the likeness of Your Son so that in Him, with Him and through Him we may love You more deeply and serve You more faithfully, always and everywhere. With Mary we ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

God of love you sustain your Church and give it life through the dedicated service of our Priests and Religious. Trusting in your Providence we ask you, Lord, to send your Holy Spirit to fill Your Church with a spirit of courage and love so that men and women may answer  the call to serve you.Our diocese of Hamilton is in urgent need of Priests to continue in your Church the saving ministry of Christ. Loving God, in your generosity hear our prayer through Christ Our Lord. Eternal Father, thank you for all priests, here in our Parish, in our Diocese and throughout the world. Thank you for the way they preach the Gospel, celebrate the Eucharist and care for Your people. Sanctify, heal and guide them. Incline them to constant Adoration and Thanksgiving. Mould them into the likeness of Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Eternal High Priest. Send Your Holy Spirit to keep the joy and enthusiasm of their Ordination Day alive in their hearts. We ask you to bless our Bishop, our Priests and Seminarians of our Diocese. We ask for a special blessing on N. May their witness to Christ inspire other men to offer their lives to you and your Church. Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful

That Catholic families will pray for and nurture the gift of vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life from among their children, we pray to the Lord.

For our seminarians, that they will experience our love and support as they follow their calling, we pray to the Lord.

Christmas 

For the family the seed bed for vocations that it will continue to nurture and encourage their children to follow the call to serve the church, we pray to the Lord.

Holy Family

That Catholic mothers and fathers will help to grow the faith and foster an openness to vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life from among their children, we pray to the Lord.

Epiphany 

That our young people will learn to open the treasure of their unique vocation through prayer and adore Christ the King by their faithfulness to His call, we pray to the Lord.

Baptism of the Lord.

For all the faithful that the grace of our baptism may guide us in our vocation, we pray to the Lord.

For those discerning a call to the priesthood or religious life, may they be open to the voice of the Lord, we pray to the Lord.

That many young and older men may hear and respond to God’s call to serve Him as priests and deacons, we pray to the Lord.

That many may hear and answer the call to become priests, deacons, and religious brothers and sisters, we pray to the Lord.

That the Church will be blessed with many vocations after the model of Christ the Good Shepherd, we pray to the Lord.

Palm/Passion Sunday

That the Lord will open the hearts of our young people to the possibility of a calling to the priesthood, diaconate or religious life, we pray to the Lord.

Holy Thursday

May many more men, with the support and encouragement from their families and parish, hear the call to the priesthood and become for us our future priests to shepherd and teach like Jesus, we pray to the Lord.

The harvest is rich, but the labourers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest to send more labourers into his harvest.

For those who are discerning a vocation, that they will not be afraid, but be courageous in making the right decision in following their heart’s desire, we pray to the Lord.
