This week I read the wonderful news about Fr Columba Macbeth-Green OSPPE (Order of Saint Paul the First Hermit), a Priest friend of mine, who is to become the new Bishop of Wilcannia-Forbes Diocese in Australia. It is touching news to discover one of your friends is becoming a Bishop. I am so happy and pleased for him and I know he will serve the Church well through his many gifts. The news was a pleasant surprise for me. I had never  predicted that Fr. Columba would be become a Bishop so this news brings me great joy.

Please do pray for Fr. Columba who will be ordained on the 3rd July 2014 and also for Deacon Jeremy Palman of Auckland who will become a Catholic Priest on 9th August 2014.

News of Ordinations is a reminder that the Church is continually changing , growing and giving birth it would seem to new off spring. It is also, as mentioned already, a time of great joy and celebration, as we do give thanks for the wonder of God working in the lives of generous men.  We must continue to pray for many more Priestly and Religious Vocations.

Kind regards and God bless
