On the 16th of November 2012, at the Benedictine Monastery at Ngakuru, Mother Angela of the Holy Trinity celebrated her Golden Jubilee and renewed her Monastic Profession. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Denis Browne with Fr David Mullins the Tyburn Chaplain, visiting clergy, the Tyburn nuns from Bombay Auckland, many Oblates and friends of the Tyburn nuns.

It was a beautiful Mass, with chant and some Latin. Bishop Denis reminded us during his homily that the Tyburn Nuns are continually praying for the Diocese of Hamilton. This is a consoling thought to remember and such an important vocation to have.

It was a privilege to be present at this Mass and to reflect on Mother Angela’s fifty years of faithful service.

At the end of Mass Mother Xavier thanked Mother Angela and reaffirmed the Entrance Antiphon of the Mass which said “The lot marked out for me is my delight…” She explained that Mother Angela had been in charge of many building projects, and had done a wonderful job. She was able to fulfill her lot with ‘delight.’

To discover one’s ‘lot,’ that is our vocation, what God has planned for us, is the purpose of discernment. We hope that with the assistance of the Tyburn Nun’s prayers, many men will discover their ‘lot’, their vocation and take up their calling with ‘delight.’

We continue to pray for an increase in vocations.  We pray too for the Tyburn Nuns, that they continue the important job of praying for an increase in vocations to the Priesthood for Hamilton Diocese.

Kind regards and God bless
