First year at the seminary…

After a year waiting to enter the seminary, I was happy to finally be there and be more firmly on the road to the priesthood. Our first year was more a discernment/easing into it year, with formation classes from our priests in the seminary and one subject per semester at the college. Because of the lighter study load we had more free time. Some of us would play tennis or soccer in the afternoons, or go for a surf if it was good, but it also meant we had more time to do our own reading and spend more time in prayer. I enjoyed getting to know the seminarians and hanging out together, reading and learning more and time with Our Lord in prayer. I didn’t like the non-soundproof walls, which seem to amplify noise in the units… but it’s pretty good otherwise, especially the food. Pray for me and the other seminarians that we will trust more in Jesus in all things.
