One of the lessons the feast of the Epiphany teaches us is that the wise men were open and searched for the Christ Child. They left their home lands. They knew the Scriptures and the prophecies about the birth of the Messiah. They experienced the wonder of God in the star and in Jesus and Mary. They were touched and moved and it changed them. The text says they were filled with delight.

Men who are discerning a vocation need to be open and moved and prepared to change.  They also need to be filled with delight allowing the wonder of God to work in their lives and assist them to discover their true vocation. All men discerning a vocation need a little of the wise men in them being prepared to search, ask questions, leave home and find their hearts’ desires, their vocation in life.

Kind regards and God bless
