Some men have been considering the Priesthood for as long as they can remember, while others have just started wondering about the Priesthood.

The Holy Spirit works in wonderful ways and when inspiration strikes it is good to be open and ready to respond to the Lord’s call.

It is a courageous thing to begin the journey of discovering one’s true vocation, what God has set for you to do, even before you were born (Jeremiah 1:4-9). God will speak to you giving you a sign, a message, sometimes clear and sometimes not. It is your responsibility to pursue this journey of discernment, to discover your vocation in life whether it be Marriage, Single, Priesthood or Religious.

On the 13th to the 15th of December the annual Vocations Retreat for the Hamilton Diocese is to be held at Ngakuru, 30 minutes from Rotorua, for single men who are wondering about the Priesthood or their vocation. The retreat is a valuable time for prayer, silence, attending Mass and Confession and listening to talks about discernment; also mixing with other men, who are on a similar journey of discovering their true vocation.

Why not came away and do something different, spending time with the Lord of the Harvest who calls each of us by name to a particular vocation.

If you are interested in attending the Vocations Retreat please register on this Vocations website here. You are very welcome to attend and I look forward to seeing you there.

Kind regards and God bless
