Life is full of opportunities to make well informed decisions. Maybe some of our decisions are foolish and maybe some of our decisions are sensible. (Matthew 25:1-13)

It is unclear why the foolish bridesmaids did not take oil to be used in their lamps. Perhaps their lack of oil was a sign of their laziness, their willingness not to be prepared or to care or perhaps they were thoughtless and did not have the ability to make good and thorough decisions.

Instead the oil of the sensible bridesmaids could be their preparedness and their eagerness to make good and thorough decisions.

Men who are discerning their vocations need the oil of the sensible bridesmaids to assist them to make good decisions, which will bear fruit and assist them to do the will of God; guiding them to discover their vocation and not expecting their vocation to discover them.

Kind regards and God bless
